After years of planning and 18 months of construction, Bethany Village features a sparkling, spacious 73-unit apartment building that will cater specifically to assisted-living residents. While it fills a niche in the Bethany Village suite of services, it more importantly helps fulfill the Graceworks' mission of dignity and wholeness of life for all. From spacious suites to open gathering spaces to the impressive new Wholeness of Life Center, every inch has been thoughtfully considered to help residents thrive.
During 2018, Bethany Village earned the distinction as an “Employer of Choice” from LeadingAge Ohio. LeadingAge is the advocate of not-for-profit services for older Ohioans. The Silver Employer of Choice designation acknowledges a strong commitment to high-quality recruiting and retention standards. “With unemployment low, we work diligently to attract and retain top tier staff members,” said Vice President, Judy Budi, when learning of the award. “Being recognized as a Silver Level Employer of Choice means we are living our own values of Faithful Caring while providing a meaningful work environment for our employees.” Some of the categories LeadingAge reviewed include resident and client satisfaction, employee satisfaction, innovation and culture, and community engagement.
Throughout 2018 and every day, Bethany Village residents embrace an active lifestyle. Thanks to a host of life enrichment events during 2018, residents from all across the Bethany continuum were able to get out, make friends, stay active and have fun. Residents enjoyed a conga line to celebrate the beginning of warm weather with a “Party on the Patio” in June. It turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year, so the party moved inside and no one missed a beat! Speaking of beats, residents kept time to an oom-pah band and enjoyed food, dancing, and beer during the annual Oktoberfest celebration in September. Other events included a visit from Rosie Red to celebrate our national pastime, a number of academic opportunities for lifelong learning, and countless hours spent in the fitness center.
On January 7th, 2019, residents and staff gathered as Graceworks president and CEO Bill Serr cut the ribbon on the newly expanded fitness center at Bethany Village. Serr was joined by Centerville Mayor Brooks Compton for the special ceremony. The expanded fitness center was made possible by funds raised as part of the Body and Soul Capital campaign. That campaign raised money for the expanded space and new equipment. Patrons were also able to designate gifts to the art glass in the Wholeness of Life Center, located inside of Crescent Crossing assisted living.
